Columbia County SWAT Youth Attend Region 2 SWAT Meeting
June 9, 2018

Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Youth from across Region 2 in Northeast Florida traveled to the Montgomery Presbyterian Center to meet for their annual regional meeting.

Each county in Region 2 had two youth in attendance providing the opportunity for local SWAT Students from Lake City Middle School to meet others with the same mission. The meeting provided an opportunity for students to discuss various ideas for bettering their school club while also learning great information on electronic cigarettes.

Our local SWAT youth and the Lake City Middle School SWAT Sponsor learned about a new electronic cigarette campaign, “Not A Lab Rat”, as well a project called “PhotoVoice” that focuses on taking pictures of things in communities that are related to tobacco and using those photos as an education tool.

The tools, information, and resources provided at trainings like this one are great to take back to SWAT Students back home in an effort to further develop and establish Students Working Against Tobacco clubs in Columbia County!
