Lake City Middle SWAT Represents at Regional Training
November 03, 2018

Lake City Middle School SWAT Aiden Hoaglan represented Lake City Middle School and Columbia County at the Region 2 SWAT meeting held in November at the Montgomery Presbyterian Center in Starke.

The day was packed full of information and resources that could be used to further develop the Lake City Middle School SWAT program as well as increase the brand awareness and recognition of the program throughout Columbia County. Youth Advisory Board members for the statewide SWAT program updated and presented on the PhotoVoice tool as well as “Not A Lab Rat” day. SWAT members in attendance also received trainings that helped them practice their public speaking and advocacy skills.

“Trainings like this are not only a great opportunity for SWAT members from Columbia County to interact and bounce ideas from other members but also to really develop the skills needed advocate for SWAT and the local Tobacco Prevention Program,” commented Joey O’Hern, Columbia County Tobacco Prevention Specialist.
